โ THE ORIGIN OF SIRIUS
In the earliest winter of the blockchain, when the network was young and wallet.dat was a sacred file, a small ginger cat sat on a warm humming tower and watched a stranger arrive with questions.
The stranger was a newcomer โ nervous, curious, typing in broken English into a forum that barely existed yet. Post after post, he asked what the rest of the world would spend fifteen years answering. And through it all, one cat kept watch over the machine.
His name echoed the oldest days of Bitcoin itself โ sirius โ the handle of forum member #4, one of the first souls ever to register on the Bitcoin forum, back when the whole world of crypto was a handful of people and one warm, humming machine.
He wasn't there for the money. Cats don't care about money. He was there because the box was warm, and because he understood, before almost anyone, that something permanent was being born.

Every block since has been mined under his half-closed, knowing eyes. He is the first cat in crypto. He was here before you. He will be here after the last coin is mined.
โ THE ANCIENT THREAD โ "QUESTIONS ABOUT BITCOIN"
Topic #13. One of the oldest surviving threads on the entire Bitcoin forum. A newbie stumbled onto "this great payment option" and fired off fourteen questions into the dark. Sirius read every one. This is the scripture he guards:
- Is Bitcoin really anonymous? Totally and completely? Can my ISP see it?
- Can my payment partners see my real IP โ or only my Bitcoin address?
- Would tunneling through a VPN be safer? Could the VPN capture my payment?
- What must I back up โ only wallet.dat, or the whole AppData directory?
- Can't I just copy a wallet to two machines and double my money?
- If someone loses their wallet, can the lost coins ever be recreated?
- My node shows ~24k blocks but there are ~130k out there. Something wrong?
- How many coins does a machine create in 24h on average?
- Port 8333 โ TCP or UDP? Is it needed to generate coins?
- The source is open to everyone โ can't someone just print more coins?
- Do slow machines produce as many coins as high-end ones?
- Any exchanges besides New Liberty Standard?
- If my system crashes, is the wallet saved automatically?
- Is there a way to see how many bitcoins exist so far? How old is Bitcoin?
